As many of you probably know from my tweets and such, I landed a job in NYC over the weekend and I just booked a one-way flight.

Without getting too Full House on you, I do want to thank everyone who helped along the way – whether you’re a reader, subscriber, frequent commenter or whatever. I think this blog was a great help in getting the job and without people to connect with, it probably would have gotten shuffled into my domain purchase graveyard. So thank you.

Also, I recently had the opportunity to chat with Srini on Skype about my experiences during my first six months of blogging, my Twitter philosophy and whatever else got mixed in. The recording of our conversation will be featured this week as the latest interview in his “Interviews with Up and Coming Bloggers” series.

I’m an up and coming blogger? I know, I know. It’s confusing. Does this mean I can start selling t-shirts faster than Cafe Press can print them?

In my lust to die in the company of 36 cats, I have written another guest post on relationships.

Kelly Diels, co-founder of the now immensely successful Girls Gone Mild T-Shirt company and one of my favorite bloggers, asked me to write a little something on sex (relationships, gender, etc) , power (money, careers, etc.).. and meaning. One of these things is not like the others, right? I know. After jumping up and down at the guest post opp, I immediately went into a writer’s block state I’d like to call, “Einhorn… Finkle… Finkle.. Einhorn.”

When I told Kelly about my “Einhorn.. Finkle.. Finkle.. Einhorn” state, she replied, “Oh god, please tell me you’re not writing about Ace Ventura…” I did not write about Ace, but I did manage to squeeze in both a Coldplay Venn Diagram and a Pat Green reference.

I’ve met a bunch of really cool people during the last month of blogging, and recently I was given the opportunity to participate in a series of articles by Sharalyn Hartwell highlighting the things GenY is thankful for, since we’re so often viewed as the generation that doesn’t appreciate what’s right around them. My submission (and also the first use of my pen name – for those who actually know me, let me know what ya think about it) was featured in yesterday’s article .

Here’s just a couple (of the many) things I’m thankful for:

I’m thankful our only entertainment was a CD player on road trips during my youth; I’m a much better person for knowing the words to Bob Seger and Paul Simon songs.I’m thankful my dad taught me that it is truly entertaining to squeak your shoes in stores after escaping the rain.

• My brother is so lenient with my “Move to Ft. Lauderdale” loan repayment schedule. Who wants to go to happy hourrrr?

** I mean “grammar freak” in the best way possible. It’s truly a compliment in the copywriting world.

The backstory:

I found Robby G.’s site a few weeks ago and enjoyed reading his take on many of the relationship issues that trickled through his inbox. One day, he had a guest post titled, “How to Land a Prince After Kissing 10,000 Frogs” and I opened my mouth in the comment section:

I think some of this advice is valid, but I think other parts are a little too much of “this is what worked for me.. so it will work for you.” Who says you can’t meet someone in a bar or online? The best way would of course be the whole “find someone when you’re not looking” route.. but I don’t think it hurts to mix it up with a little effort too. One of the issues I see the most among my female friends is that they view being single as an issue, some kind of problem that needs to be fixed – rather than treating it as an opportunity to fill their schedule with the activities they enjoy and really find out what makes them happy on their own – a key component to figuring out what type of person you should be with ultimately. That’s just my two cents though.

And with that, a Guest Post opportunity was spawned. In addition to his dating advice, Robby also has a great little fiction piece he just released. I’m a few pages away from the conclusion (a feat for me.. seriously.. those who have seen the stack of lost cause books in the corner of my room – many of which are written by some of the world’s best authors – know how difficult it is for me to stay focused long enough to finish a book).
