I’m basically a 5-year-old.

I get all excited about something and then 20 seconds later I’m looking at the walls and wondering why they’re yellow and what yellow paint tastes like.

Like tonight I was critiquing my dance video and trying to think of some new moves and I remembered that I made that video as part of a challenge and that other people were supposed to make videos too and it was going to be really cool.

And then it hit me. People don’t want to make dance videos because it’s fun. They want to make dance videos because there is a possibility they can win shit.

And it doesn’t matter what kind of shit. They just want to win it.

So with this epiphany in hand, the “Show Me Your Moves” Dance Challenge is no longer a challenge. It’s a contest. And this is the prize*, **, ***:

So this time, please send in your moves. I’m especially interested in a new dance for stag wedding guests to do when slow songs come on.

See, now you can show me your moves AND help young, single wedding attendees avoid texting their ex or getting forced to dance with someone’s great uncle.

On an unrelated note, I announced a dance challenge over the weekend.

If you are currently storing urine in your bladder or coffee in your mouth, I advise you to relieve yourself of these liquid dangers prior to viewing my dance challenge announcement.

Here’s a little Christmas/Hanukkah/InsertOtherDecemberHoliday YouTube special, once again broadcasting live from my kitchen. You may notice, as Matt did, that I hold a fairly intense stare throughout this video. That is because dancing is not funny when you’re white.

In this video, you will learn how to win a dance off and get step-by-step instructions for the “Rowin’ Down the Muddy River” dance and the now world-renowned “Butter the Toast” dance. Until now, these moves have only been showcased at Lous Blues in Indialantic, FL, Tarpon Bend and Dicey O’Rileys in Fort Lauderdale, FL and every bar in eastern Europe. Now though, thanks to Al Gore, they can be viewed from the privacy of your home computer. Or perhaps a laptop in the airport. Your choice.

Butter the Toast (baby) Dance Steps:
1. Pull up pants
2. Hand off beer
3. Focus on camera with melancholy glare
4. Grab yaself some butta
5. Put it on dat toast
6. Engage eye contact with attractive member of the sex you prefer
7. Eat yaself some delicious toast
