This is the week for belated book reviews. A very funny man by the name of Phil Villarreal sent me a copy of his book, Secrets of a Stingy Scoundrel: 100 Dirty Little Money-Grubbing Secrets (affiliate link, get excited, I could make my first dollar from this blog) to review back in October.
I am now posting the review. Let’s just forget how many months are in between October and March. What is time anyway? I mean, what is now? What is future? What is existence?
Anyone seen the Matrix?
Check out my video review below, featuring the one of many Boy Toy Brads (backstory). Leave a comment before midnight tonight and you’ll be eligible to win a free copy. Then, take a few minutes to check out Phil’s blog. He’s funny as hell and one of my favorite people I’ve met over the Internet.

Jenny,
It's good to catch up on things after the winter doldrums.
Visited Phil's blog. He has a different take on things – it's cool.
Seriously, I like your book reviews! Short and Quirky. Caught your “War of Art” review and interview yesterday.
Keep it up.
Jenny,
You are so cool. But I can't believe you stopped getting FREE Sprite just because that teen-aged sandwich maker made you feel embarrassed. You'll get over feelings but money in your pocket is forever.
Some great money saving tips. Thanks for your insights.
Glad you enjoyed Phil's blog. He's one of my favorite daily reads. Thanks for the nice words. I'm really enjoying adding in more reviews to my blogging schedule. Any recommendations for the next one? (not that I don't have five going right now..)
Thanks for stopping by. Haha, I think you're right. Maybe I have abstained from stealing the Sprite long enough and I could definitely use that extra cash.
Nicely done…loved the book…and PS I still do the “I'll have a water” trick. So far, so good. But I'm sure I'll get busted one of these days…:)
Thanks Matt! Do you get Sprite or are you brazen enough to go for the dark soda?
Good news.. just did a random.org and you're the winner of the free copy. I'll be in touch on Twitter to get your mailing address
Thanks again for stopping by!
Your transitions are awesome! I've been a fan of your blog since I read your article on Problogger.com, and now book reviews. I'm hooked.
Oh, and that head bobbing thing that Brad does; it's called swagger.
Haha everyone has their limits – I usually keep it to sprite, or lemonade. Although when you find a place that doesn't have the clear cups – you're golden. Subway used to be suckers for this and would give you a “regular” cup for water. Suckers…
Thanks Eric! Glad you found your way over from that guest post.
I will keep that in mind about Brad. I guess he doesn't get many opportunities to showcase that swagger pinned between my t-shirt rack and plaster.
I really enjoyed your book review of SECRETS OF STINGY SCOUNDREL, but more importantly what nationality is boy toy Brad? I'm thinking he's of Italian descent. Can you confirm that?
Thanks Andrea! I think he's 1/4 Italian, 1/4 Mexican and 1/2 synthetic. But we don't talk much.
