It was GRANDPARENTS' DAY. Who Knew?

by Jenny McCoy on September 13, 2009

In honor of my mom’s day of birth, my family went out to dinner.

My brother arrived first. And noticing the 45+ minute wait, quickly answered “Yes” when asked if we had any grandparents in our dinner party.

And so we were seated ahead of the less decrepit dinner parties.

As we looked over our menus, my dad inquired about my night out in Melbourne the previous evening.

“Did you go to Lous Blues?”

“Nah, we went downtown. Lous Blues is really only fun if you take a big group there.”

“Why’s that?”

“Otherwise there’s just a bunch of OLD people…”

I took a look around.

And immediately start feeling the awkward vibe.

Yep. So it’s Grandparent’s Day.

Lots of OLD people.

All checking out the Grandparents’ Day menu.

Polyester outfits.

Right behind me.

Trying to save $0.50 on their entree by ordering something they don’t really want from the special menu.

Definitely just heard me say OLD with a tone of severe disgust.

Soo can I go ahead and switch from soda to beer?
